Into Vermont

Today started off chilly, but mostly sunny. I ultimately stopped at an outfitter and picked up another base layer, and it made all the difference. I think it was somewhere in the 40s when I started.

Riding through the Adirondacks and Vermont is like entering a postcard reality. The fall colors roll into lakes, with docks and houses nestled into the hillsides. So far the roads have been nice, not quite as challenging as some of the west coast roads connecting the PCH and the 101 - but quite beautiful.

Today - side roads through VT and NH

A church just into Vermont. It was somewhat kept outside but apparently not used - and it was covered in bees. Not just a bunch heading into one or two places, but a scattering of bees going about their business across the entire exterior. I can't imagine the size of the nest(s) inside. Church anyone?
